It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have been successfully scaled.

This is the team that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to an additional six T20 titles, and earlier maintained 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, those for the record chasers, are the only things left for a side that has achieved everything.

It needed up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to complete their first ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the biggest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the bowlers that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their hitters to possess a record if never given the possibility.

In the end, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her newest gem.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after Australia didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups conducted earlier and has seen it all through 15 trophy-laden years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup came three months after her first appearance and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The gritty keeper was present as well in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India temporarily stopped the successful run.

That loss "motivated us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not come up short.

If this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Many contend the case for final game tension. Some might respond with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 occurred when she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India over the past few weeks in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it's been a frustrating experience because I feel like my form was missing completely," stated Healy.

"An opportunity to play and face the challenge with her and just have a bit of fun in that aspect, sort of got me going," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her ton in 84 deliveries while she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three maximums.

When she was dismissed her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - a manageable total now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Hopefully we don't have to do it again but, if we do, we believe we can succeed."

Those words will be the last competing nations at this World Cup should hear.

During the last week a feeling they will win from any position has grown stronger - this triumph succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with old rivals England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

It was at that stage they exited last year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy was absent due to ruptured tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at a significant event.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

Yet even as she afterwards confessed those injuries have pushed back consideration of ending her career, this tournament is likely to be her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve an international tournament as skipper.
